Look here to save money each month on your phone plan!

Looking for ways on how to save money and free up “extra” cash on your phone bill? Look no further!

Simply put:

Herein we will give you some ways to save on your phone itself, your phone plan, and potentially your home internet.

I do recommend that you read the HNTSS for more understanding of how we “save” here.

Save by switching to T-mobile!

Stick with me. They’ll save you in 3 categories!

  1. On your phone plan
  2. On your home internet
  3. On streaming
T-mobile offers streaming, internet hot-spot, and cheap phone plans that offer amazing speeds

We aren’t in any form sponsored by T-mobile, but we utilize their service. They offer unlimited data and amazing prices that beat Verizon. They have nationwide coverage and I’m going to show you how they will save you money immediately!

If you really must have Netflix, look at T-mobile and their family plans. If you have 2 or more lines, you get Netflix with your plan! That means you can have cell service cover this cost! That’s anywhere from $8-$20 saved a month.

Internet bill:

Just a glimpse.

Check your phone provider! Hotspot is a thing and before you skip this… Really look.

We have personally seen on the T-mobile one plus international plan, you get unlimited Hotspot and this has been used to play video games on a PS4 having used over 300GB in a month. This same internet can support Zoom, gaming, YouTube, and all other internet needs. If you are single or just a couple, there are no reasons not to utilize your Hotspot!

STAY AWAY FROM CONTRACTS.

Contracts are a big no-go! Do not, under whatever lie they tell you, sign a contract. Keep your options open and keep searching new deals.

Simple note:

Depending on area, congestion can cause some intermittent connections.

Phone plans:

We’ve mentioned phone plans, but really see what you need. We always recommend going for unlimited, but companies like Verizon offer tiers of unlimited (doesn’t make sense) whereas T-mobile offers unlimited unlimited as a single tier.
Check your plan and minimize your spending.

If you can lower your bill, do it! Take a line off or pay the balance on your phone. If possible downgrade packages.

Your phone itself:

Via T-mobile website

Buy your phone OUTSIDE of the cell company. Buy from EBay, Amazon, or other e-commerce retailers! They will be nearly 40-50% cheaper and paying for a phone in full will save you hundreds and reduce your bill!
Don’t trade in to upgrade your device! Keep your old device and use it as a Webcam or a work specific phone or a hobby phone (learn to do something vis Udemy or YouTube). Trading in is a waste of money and they don’t even give you near the value of your device!

Simple warning:

They offer BOGO and add a line every time, but remember when you add a line, you have to pay for the line!

This means if the phone is free, you pay for the line. If the line is free, you pay for the phone!

Simple example:

Let’s say you pay $80 even for 1 line unlimited data and unlimited Hotspot with T-mobile. (This is one of our plans)

Let’s say a new line would cost $25 and a new Samsung galaxy S21 ultra+ is $50 a month.

They will offer like this:

If you trade in a device (typically a newer one) they will give you a free phone on a new line for 24 months via billing credit. OR they’ll offer a free line with the purchase of a new device. The issue is the new line, whether you get the “free phone” will cost you either $25 or $50 a month. Even after the 24 months, you’ll still owe a new line. The problem is you’ll be locked in for 2 years!

Be careful what you do and proceed cautiously. Nothing is ever free.

Simple heads-up:

T-mobile offers a free checking account that doesn’t require a credit check or a minimum deposit! It’s a fee account that offers a 4% interest rate with certain conditions.

We highly recommend this!

Simple conclusion:

As we’ve discussed, T-mobile can save you money on Netflix, home internet, and on your phone plan.

What have you liked about the evolution of phone plans?

    1. Straight talk is a great phone plan! A lot of people don’t realize that they’re powered by Verizon. Another great company with good service. I’ll have to do a write up on straight talk!

      1. Straight Talk is a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO), which is a cell phone provider that doesn’t have its own towers but partners with one or more networks to provide coverage. One of Straight Talk’s selling points is that it works on all of the Big 4 networks: Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile and Sprint. There is an auto-refill option and extended service plans depending on the needs of the customer(s) who goes with the company. Here is a link for you that speaks to reviews of Straight Talk customers: https://www.consumeraffairs.com/cell_phones/straight_talk_wireless.html I have never had a problem with the phone itself or had to call on customer service for any reason. Nor have I had any problems that the low star ratings suggest. If you don’t mind my curiosity, I have 3 questions for you: 1: What towers are most convenient to you: At&t, T-Mobile, Verizon or Sprint? 2: If given the choice personally, would you opt for a cellphone that has coverage for whatever tower you used or a landline? 3: What in your opinion is probably the most difficult part of selecting a good phone plan?
